About Alison
A practicing pediatric emergency physician
who saw a problem she couldn't ignore, and built a company to solve it.
2014
A critically ill child died during a helicopter transfer to her emergency department.
Something as simple as video technology connecting rural and pediatric hospitals might have prevented the tragedy.
That moment sparked her decade-long work in telemedicine and virtual care for the most vulnerable children.
2020
By 2020, she had built and led one of the first virtual care programs for children with special needs.
The program gave families more support, and the clinical impact showed: hospitalizations down 35%, ER visits down 50%. Fee-for-service could not fund it, so the program ended.
On the front lines during COVID, she watched those same children flood back into emergency departments.
Then
She knew the model could help vulnerable children across the country if it could scale, so she decided to build it as a startup.
She spent a year at Rubicon Founders, partnering to build a concept they could take to market.
2023
She designed, co-founded, launched and scaled Imagine Pediatrics.
Imagine Pediatrics ensures children on Medicaid with chronic diseases get the care they deserve.
The company grew from concept to a multi-nine-figure valuation in two years and now serves nearly 100,000 children across multiple states.
Today
She advises venture firms, healthcare startups and physician founders.
She also founded Startup Physicians, which creates pathways for physicians to enter the startup space as advisors, consultants and founders.
She lives in Nashville, TN, with her husband and four children.
